Job summary

Guidehouse in the Washington, DC area seeks a Federal Financial Management Consultant to support federal clients across grants, reimbursable agreements, procurement, and budget formulation and execution. The role emphasizes client relationships, presentation skills, and translating complex financial data into clear insights for decision makers.

You will work in a cross-functional team, deliver high-quality work on time, and help improve processes and controls in federal financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 1–3 years of consulting experience, preferably with Federal clients.
• Experience with Federal financial management (grants, reimbursable agreements, procurement, budget).
• Experience with Federal agencies and regulations.
• Knowledge of DATA Act, TFM, FFMI, OMB Circular A-123, and budget processes.
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Google Workspace.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust.
• US Citizen due to client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing financial management support to Federal clients per Federal requirements.
• Develop business-case analyses and cost/benefit analyses.
• Prepare and reconcile federal financial documents and grant records.
• Identify process improvements to enhance operations and controls.
• Develop clear deliverables (presentations, reports, dashboards) for clients.
• Facilitate client meetings and communicate project status.
