Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. is seeking an External Relations Manager for the Victor, Colorado site. The role leads stakeholder engagement, community development, and social performance, advising site leadership on community, government, media, and reputational matters.

The position requires 10+ years in community or government relations, with supervisory experience. It involves cross-functional collaboration with Environmental, Operations, and HR teams to manage external risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in social science, communications, public policy or related field.
10+ years of progressive experience in community relations, government relations, or economic development.
Supervisory or leadership experience.
Experience in mining, natural resources, energy, infrastructure, or other regulated industries preferred.
Experience leading community investment and development initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the site's external relations strategy and engagement plans.
Identify, map, and prioritize stakeholders; build relationships with communities, officials, and organizations.
Represent the site at public meetings, hearings, and stakeholder events.
Lead community meetings, advisory groups, and outreach activities.
Monitor sentiment and provide leadership with stakeholder insights and recommendations.
