Job summary

Olympia Entertainment in Detroit, MI is seeking an Accounting Analyst responsible for general accounting support, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. You will work with event accountants, operations, sales and marketing to invoice for services, analyze ledgers, and assist in forecasts and annual budgets.

The role requires integrity, strong analytical skills, and proactive communication in a fast-paced sports and entertainment environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of two years related accounting experience.
Possess the highest integrity and ethical standards.
Effective and proactive communication, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries for multiple accounts.
Reconcile costs incurred for events and prepare billing requests.
Collaborate with operations, sales and marketing to invoice for services provided.
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
Participate in the monthly close process and explain budget to actual variances.
Assist in monthly forecasts and annual budget for assigned departments.
Suggest process improvements to accounting policies and procedures.
Maintain compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
