Job summary

Hydrogen Group, on behalf of a confidential client in the power generation and energy infrastructure sector, is seeking a Senior Contracts & Procurement Manager to lead sourcing, procurement, and contracting for major capital EPC projects.

You will oversee procurement of engineering services, long-lead equipment, materials, and contractor packages, guiding RFQ/RFP processes, contract negotiations, and ongoing administration to meet quality, compliance, and delivery goals.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, contracts, supply chain, or commercial management within power generation, renewable energy, EPC, oil & gas, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience leading competitive sourcing and tendering activities for engineering services, materials, equipment, and contractor packages from scope development through supplier selection and award.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC procurement practices, commercial contracting, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
  • Experience working within an ERP or project management system such as SAP, Oracle, Procore, Sage, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project is preferred.
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and project coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated commercial judgment and strategic sourcing capabilities, including the ability to create and manage effective supplier competition.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support several projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and collaboration with technical, financial, legal, and project delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead competitive sourcing events for engineering services, equipment, materials, and construction or contractor packages.
  • Manage the full RFQ/RFP process, including preparing solicitation documents, issuing bid packages, coordinating bidder questions, and evaluating submitted proposals.
  • Identify and assess potential suppliers and contractors based on technical capabilities, terms, capacity, and project requirements.
  • Develop bid analyses, comparison tools, and supplier evaluation summaries to support well-documented award decisions.
  • Create and maintain competitive tension among qualified suppliers to achieve favorable pricing and terms.
  • Conduct supplier and market research to evaluate pricing trends, capacity, capabilities, lead times.
  • Ensure sourcing activities comply with procurement policies, quality standards, and ethical practices.
  • Lead development, negotiation, and execution of contracts with internal legal and external suppliers.
  • Ensure agreements define scope, terms, responsibilities, deliverables, and project requirements.
  • Manage purchase orders, service agreements, contract modifications, and amendments throughout projects.
  • Coordinate with Project Controls and Legal to maintain contract visibility and approvals.
  • Maintain complete contract documentation in audit-ready format in SharePoint.
  • Develop procurement strategies aligned with budgets, schedules, and delivery requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, and Project Management to define scopes of work and specifications.
  • Work with Project Controls to develop procurement schedules and delivery reporting.
  • Support supply chain planning and maintain milestone visibility.
  • Monitor market conditions and lead times for critical equipment and materials; identify procurement risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Track procurement performance and realized savings for continuous improvement.
