Job summary

Hoar Construction is seeking a seasoned Data Architect to lead the design, structure, and strategy of the enterprise data environment in Birmingham, AL. You will translate complex business needs into scalable data solutions and establish data standards across business and IT teams.

You will collaborate with leaders to roadmap data platforms, ensure reliable data access, and guide governance initiatives while mentoring junior architects in a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in information architecture, data architecture, data sourcing, distribution analysis, data modeling, and system design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data architecture frameworks, standards, and best practices.
• Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business applications and analytics.
• Develop strategies for data warehousing, data acquisition, data integration, archiving, and recovery.
• Evaluate and recommend new data sources, platforms, and technologies to improve scalability and performance.
• Define data structures, attributes, naming conventions, and governance standards across the organization.
• Lead data modeling initiatives and guide teams on best practices for organizing and interpreting data.
• Mentor team members and provide leadership on data architecture, design, and governance initiatives.
