Job summary

Williams College is seeking a Senior Accountant - Endowment & Investments to join the Finance Department and steward the College's $4+ billion long-term investment pool through monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting responsibilities.

You will model and execute the annual endowment distribution, assist with forecasting scenarios, respond to donor questions, and advise on endowment accounting treatments under GAAP and UPMIFA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of investment accounting experience.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced knowledge of not-for-profit and endowment accounting.
• Experience with financial planning systems and MS Office/Google suites.
• Ability to collaborate across levels and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for investment valuation and activity.
• Coordinate with outside providers on split interest agreements and trusts to ensure proper recording in Fundriver and Workday.
• Assist in designing reports to support annual audit and financial statements.
• Assist with preparing annual financial statements, 990, and related reports.
• Review endowment gift agreements and classify appropriately in Workday and Fundriver.
