Job summary

Tidelands Health, Murrells Inlet, SC, seeks a Director of Safety, Security & Emergency Management to oversee safety, security, and disaster preparedness across the hospital system. This leadership role directs emergency operations planning, risk mitigation, and compliance with Joint Commission standards.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in hospital safety or emergency management, strong collaboration with clinical teams, and the ability to manage resources while driving continuous safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, biology, public health, environmental health, emergency management, criminal justice or related area.
• 2+ years of hospital safety/security or emergency preparedness leadership experience.
• Experience in strategic disaster preparedness including hurricane planning and large disaster response.
• Experience coordinating hospital incident command center operations and emergency response.
• Experience collaborating with clinical departments and senior leadership or external organizations.
• Clinical background (nurse, respiratory therapist, pharmacist, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Emergency Preparedness Program and maintain the Hospital Emergency Operations Plan.
• Oversee safety, security, fire protection and prevention programs; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain policies related to safety, security, parking, and visitor control.
• Lead the hospital's emergency management efforts and align with Joint Commission requirements.
• Plan and evaluate drills, implement corrective actions to strengthen response.
• Manage resources and funding for safety, security and emergency programs; pursue grants.
