Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is seeking a Director of Outbound Transportation to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for outbound movements across ecommerce, retail, wholesale, and franchise channels.

This leader will guide carrier strategies, network design, and technology to optimize performance and customer delivery experience. The role reports to the VP/GVP Transportation and is based in New Albany, OH with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
10+ years of progressive transportation, logistics, supply chain, fulfillment, or related experience.
5+ years leading transportation teams and transportation service providers.
Deep expertise in parcel transportation, fulfillment operations, carrier management, sourcing, and network optimization.
Proven experience developing transportation strategies that improve customer experience, business performance, and scalability.
Strong understanding of transportation economics, carrier markets, fulfillment networks, and transportation technologies.
Experience leveraging analytics, technology, and data-driven decision-making to improve network performance and influence strategic outcomes.
Strong financial acumen, including budget management, forecasting, variance analysis, and business case development.
Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and cross-functional influence skills.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate future-state network designs and evolving transportation capabilities.
Retail, omnichannel, eCommerce, or consumer products experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute transportation strategies balancing customer experience, service, speed, cost, capacity, and resiliency across channels.
Lead network optimization initiatives including carrier diversification, routing, and future-state design.
Develop scalable solutions supporting channel expansion and evolving fulfillment models.
Partner with various stakeholders to align transportation performance with customer and store expectations.
Establish contingency and resiliency plans to protect customer commitments during disruptions.
Monitor transportation trends and capabilities to identify risks and opportunities.
Drive transportation cost optimization while maintaining service expectations.
Establish forecasting discipline, variance management, and performance metrics across spend and outcomes.
Build business cases for investments, sourcing, and technology enhancements.
Own enterprise carrier relationships across parcel, pool, LTL, truckload, and final-mile.
Lead transportation sourcing and carrier negotiations in partnership with Procurement.
Establish carrier performance programs that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
