Job summary

Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant seeks a Director of Facilities and Capital Planning to lead maintenance, safety, and facility operations across a large continuing care retirement community (CCRC). The role directs capital planning, preventive maintenance, and regulatory compliance to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained living environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; higher education or technical training preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in building maintenance or related field.
• Proficient in plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and interpreting blueprints/schematics.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance software, tools, and equipment used in facilities operations.
• Experience with budgeting, OSHA compliance, Life Safety Code, and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, safety, and facility operations for a large CCRC campus.
• Oversee capital planning, preventive maintenance, safety, transportation, grounds, and emergency preparedness.
• Supervise maintenance and safety staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Develop and oversee a computer-based work order management system and establish priorities.
• Coordinate regulatory and accreditation adherence (OSHA, Life Safety Code, CMS, etc.).
• Manage operating budgets for capital repairs, plant management, and utilities; monitor variances.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and 24/7 on-call maintenance coverage.
• Prepare operational and financial reports and participate in organizational committees.
