Job summary

Magnificent Differences Consulting, LLC seeks a Director of Accounting to lead the accounting function, ensure integrity of financial reporting, and supervise the accounting team. You will coordinate with external partners and drive policies, controls, and continuous improvement across the finance organization.

The role requires a CPA/CMA or equivalent, 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, and 5+ years leading teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Ten years of progressive accounting experience including financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and audit coordination.
• Five years leading accounting teams or departments.
• CPA, CMA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Demonstrates expert financial acumen in reporting, budgeting, compliance, and management practices.
• Strong analytical thinking to identify trends, risks, and strategic recommendations.
• Excellent organization and prioritization to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Leadership and talent development to foster a high-performing accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Direct the organization's accounting operations, including the general ledger, A/P, A/R, cash management, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Oversee monthly and year-end close processes and timely financial statement preparation.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with leadership on budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
• Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Evaluate and improve accounting processes, workflows, and financial systems for efficiency and scalability.
• Establish departmental goals and performance expectations for accounting services.
