Job summary

Wayne State University in Detroit is seeking a Director of Leadership Annual Giving to lead strategy, design programs, and grow donor support from individuals while expanding the major gifts pipeline.

The role requires meeting ambitious fundraising goals, managing a team, collaborating across schools, and supervising budget and operations. This position reports to the AVP/Dean and supports campus leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications or related field.
• Masters degree preferred.
• 7+ years in development, marketing, communications or related field with data analysis experience.
• Experience with direct donor solicitations and major gifts strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision and leadership for the leadership annual giving program and design plans to increase donor engagement.
• Collaborate with schools/colleges/unit directors and Prospect Development to hit pipelines and targets.
• Manage a prospect portfolio and secure gifts between $1,000-$50,000; draft gift documents.
• Supervise staff and manage performance for a high-performing team.
• Set operational standards and evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis.
• Manage the unit budget and monitor expenditures in line with policies.
• Network with external groups to stay current on best practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
