Job summary

Beacon Education seeks a Development Officer to support Beacon Education, GLOW Academy and Spark Academy. The role oversees events, donor relations, communications, and outreach, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality across multiple projects.

Working with the CEO and the Director of Organizational Development, you will plan fundraising activities, manage donor communications, and help grow philanthropy with strong organization, collaboration, and discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, annual giving, or nonprofit development.
• Experience with donor management/database systems.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work professionally with donors, volunteers, community leaders, and external stakeholders.
• Competency with Google Workplace, donor databases, and digital communication tools, including Canva and CRM platforms.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a nationwide criminal history and background check.

Responsibilities

• Work with the CEO and Director of Organizational Development to set goals for financial and public awareness needs.
• Plan, create and schedule event delivery with lead times for outlines, marketing and communication.
• Plan and manage 2 major events and various small events annually.
• Develop consistent brand messaging across invitations, social media, websites and marketing materials.
• Coordinate donor communications including thank-you letters, impact reports, and personalized outreach.
• Track donor interactions, giving history, and engagement strategies within the donor database.
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality in relationships with Board members and internal matters.
