Job summary

Los Angeles Education Partnership seeks an experienced Director of Development to lead a hands-on fundraising program, align with the CEO, and set strategy for growth.

The role manages a small two-person team, oversees foundations, corporate and government funding, donor relations, and board engagement while driving annual revenue toward $1.9 million this year and scaling to $5 million within 3–5 years.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of progressively responsible fundraising and development experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven org.
• Proven success building and growing a development program, department, or team.
• Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding foundation, corporate, and individual donors; budgets and grants.
• Experience working with executive leaders and engaging Board members in fundraising.
• Experience managing staff while performing hands-on fundraising.
• Strong financial and organizational skills, including budgets, projections, databases, and pipeline management.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategy and revenue diversification; set annual fundraising goals and long-term plan.
• Lead institutional funding, grants, donor cultivation, and portfolio management.
• Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with CEO and Board involvement.
• Engage the Board and Fundraising Committee to strengthen participation and accountability.
