Job summary

Cgph, based in Houston, Texas, seeks a Chief Development Officer to develop, implement and manage a strategic fundraising plan for an assigned college or unit. You will lead donor cultivation and solicitation, maintain a portfolio of prospects, and collaborate with faculty and volunteers to advance philanthropy.

The role directs development activities, budgets, and staff, and participates in university-wide fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications

4-year degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent training.
Minimum of three years of directly job-related experience.
Experience in personal solicitation and fundraising.
Knowledge of planned giving is a plus.

Responsibilities

Directs development activities for the assigned college or unit and creates/implements a comprehensive fundraising plan.
Manages a portfolio of prospects typically ranging from $25,000 to $100,000.
Identifies, cultivates, solicits prospects and steward donors with faculty, staff and volunteers.
Participates in major gift opportunities alongside UH Office of Development leadership when appropriate.
Provides guidance on personal solicitation of annual and special gifts and other development matters.
May supervise development staff within the college or unit.
Administers budget and resources for the development program.
Participates in university-wide development activities as needed.
May oversee other advancement activities such as alumni relations, publications and events.
