Job summary

DREAM is a nonprofit organization in Boston seeking a Finance and Operations professional to support budgeting, expense tracking, and compliance. The role focuses on developing financial tools, dashboards, and templates to improve efficiency and enable data-driven discussions.

You will collaborate across teams to implement new systems, design SOPs, and create LMS training modules, fostering equity and effective resource use.

Job description

  • Support program budgeting and financial management, including tracking expenses, analyzing spending trends, and informing future budget planning.
  • Research vendors and supplies to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Assist with audit and compliance preparation through review of financial documentation and maintenance of accurate records.
  • Develop and improve financial tools and systems, including templates and administrative software.
  • Evaluate and monitor internal workflows to identify process improvements, streamline operations, and strengthen program quality.
  • Conduct research on best practices in nonprofit financial management and internal systems, recommending and implementing software and tools that enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Build reports, dashboards, templates, and guidelines that support data‑driven decision‑making and transparent operational discussions.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate new systems, ensure effective resource utilization, and support continuous improvement of program processes.
  • Develop onboarding and LMS training modules that introduce new staff and members to organizational tools, workflows, and compliance expectations.
  • Design SOPs and step‑by‑step guides that support consistent use of internal business systems and reinforce high‑quality operational practices.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training materials based on staff feedback and adapt the materials to suit organizational priorities.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time, set priorities, and follow through on projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Access to resources necessary to support your telework/service experience (electrical power outlet to keep devices charged, reliable wifi connection that can connect with our cloud‑based softwares).
  • Ability to regularly meet in person with your team or your service assignment in their assigned location (including responsibility for transportation to and from).
  • Access to a reliable phone.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience and knowledge related to trauma informed behavior management and restorative practice.
  • Previous experience in leadership positions with peers.
