The Carbon Containment Lab seeks an Associate Director of Development and Communications in New Haven, CT to grow our funding base and broaden public-facing communications. This senior role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution in fundraising, donor stewardship, messaging, and outreach, partnering with senior leadership and program staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in development, fundraising, strategic communications, public affairs, or related work.
• Proven success securing philanthropic support from foundations and mission-aligned donors.
• Strong ability to translate technical content into compelling external communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead development strategy aligned with priorities and revenue goals.
• Draft and manage grant proposals, donor briefings, reports, and presentations.
• Maintain relationships with donors and prospects, including stewardship planning.
• Partner with leadership to identify new funding opportunities.
• Oversee systems for tracking proposals, deadlines, and communications.
• Represent CC Lab at events and with funding providers and communities.
• Shape and execute strategic communications across channels.
