Job summary

Pontchartrain Conservancy in Metairie, LA is seeking a Development & Communications Director to provide strategic vision, lead fundraising, and manage communications. This full-time role reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with staff, the Development Committee, and MRD coalition.

Responsibilities include building major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships; guiding staff and contractors; coordinating events; and advancing PC branding and media relations to diversify revenue

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years fundraising or related experience in a nonprofit environment.
• Self-starter with initiative, drive, and autonomy.
• Proven team, project management, and managerial skills.
• Commitment to the PC mission and strong leadership presence.
• Experience using donor management software for fundraising.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fundraising plan to increase major gifts, memberships, grants, and sponsorships.
• Oversee development staff, grant writing, events, and donor stewardship.
• Coordinate communications and branding efforts across channels.
• Manage development budget and report to leadership and Board committees.
• Liaise with MRD coalition and oversee public relations activities.
