The role requires seven years of supervisory fire service experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and the ability to interact with public officials and agencies to drive department goals.

Qualifications

• Seven years of broad and extensive sworn supervisory experience in municipal fire service work.
• Bachelor's degree in fire technology, fire science or management, public or business administration, or a related field.
• Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required education.

Responsibilities

• Selects, assigns, trains, directs, and evaluates subordinate managers and staff.
• Plans, organizes, and directs the operations of one or more Divisions within the Fire Department.
• Assists with development and administration of large budgets.
• Monitors equipment, fleet, and facilities readiness and performance.
• Maintains compliance with laws and regulations affecting fire and emergency services.
