Job summary

NASA seeks an Executive Deputy Chief Information Officer to shape the Agency's digital infrastructure and IT, directing a portfolio of over $2B and a blended team of more than 1,500 civil servants and contractors. This leadership role advances NASA's missions, IT modernization, and mission support across Earth and spaceflight domains.

The role requires SES-level qualifications, strong executive governance, and the ability to drive transformative IT services.

Qualifications

• ECQs and MTQs must be addressed in resume.
• Resume should demonstrate Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQ).
• Experience at GS-15 level or equivalent and progressive management of large programs may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as CIO's strategic partner, overseeing daily IT operations and aligning investments with NASA's mission.
• Lead and coordinate across executives to implement an integrated IT enterprise and governance decisions.
• Guide investment lifecycle and security for major IT initiatives in collaboration with finance leadership.
• Drive digital transformation, pilots, and enterprise scaling of new technologies.
• Direct talent development and workforce planning for NASA's IT community.
• Establish enterprise performance frameworks to measure IT effectiveness and mission alignment.
• Guide Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment with mission programs and cross-domain integration.
• Oversee enterprise customer engagement and service management across IT programs.
• Integrate cybersecurity across IT operations in collaboration with the CISO.
