Job summary

Semtech in Alhambra, CA is seeking a Demand Planner to own the 18‑month demand forecast for assigned product families and translate it into an executable supply plan. You will run MRP, maintain BOMs and planning data, and monitor supply coverage across the foundry and OSAT network.

The role requires strong analytical skills, data-driven decision making, and credibility with Sales, BU leadership, Operations, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 3–5 years of demand planning, supply planning, materials/production planning, or supply chain analytics experience
• Hands-on experience with an enterprise planning system (SAP APO, IBP, Kinaxis, o9, Blue Yonder, or equivalent) including MRP execution and exception management
• Working knowledge of ERP master data structures and how they drive planning output
• Understanding of inventory management fundamentals: safety stock, lot sizing, days-of-supply, and service-level trade-offs
• APICS/ASCM certification or IBF CPF certification (preferred)
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, Power BI, or Tableau for advanced demand analytics
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, and Finance and data-driven storytelling

Responsibilities

• Own the baseline forecast and maintain statistical demand models for assigned product families
• Lead the demand review step of the monthly S&OP process
• Apply ABC/XYZ and volatility segmentation to forecasting
• Track forecast accuracy and conduct root-cause analysis
• Translate demand scenarios into supply and inventory implications for executive review
• Convert plan to revenue by coordinating with Order Management, Sales, and Operations
• Identify shortages, conflicts, and excess positions and recommend contingencies
• Monitor weekly revenue pace and improve shipment linearity
• Support quarterly close with reliable revenue outlooks
• Maintain documented view of revenue upside and risk with clear assumptions
• Analyze distributor signals and channel inventory health to refine the demand plan
• Collaborate with key accounts on forecasts and signals
• Monitor channel health and validate demand quality
• Maintain planning master data and multi-level BOMs; manage changes and product transitions
• Develop dashboards and analytics to improve planning accuracy
