Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Buyer to join its Procurement team in Clifton, NJ. Responsibilities include analyzing drawings, sourcing materials, negotiating prices, and developing new sources of supply to meet contract requirements.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field and 3+ years in purchasing within a manufacturing environment, with strong MS Word/Excel/MRP skills and knowledge of defense contracting concepts preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or related field.
• 3+ years of purchasing, supply chain, or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years’ MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MRP system skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret engineering drawings/schematics to understand procurement and manufacturing requirements.
• Source and purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, parts, services and supplies for operation.
• Compile and analyze data to determine feasibility of buying products and price objectives.
• Inform on price trends and manufacturing processes; maintain records and approvals.
