Job summary

Saronic Technologies Inc. is seeking a Buyer to source, procure, and manage suppliers for autonomous surface vessels for the DoD. You will identify reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery while upholding high quality standards.

Responsibilities include supplier management, sourcing, negotiation, cost analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support production schedules and defense contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in supply chain, business, or related field.
• Experience in procurement and supplier management, preferably in defense or maritime sectors.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with government procurement regulations (FAR/DFAR) is a plus.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Supplier management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers ensuring quality, cost and delivery.
• Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to diversify the base.
• Negotiation: Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts for cost-effective agreements.
• Cost analysis: Conduct cost analyses and benchmarking to identify savings.
• Inventory management: Monitor inventory levels to support production while minimizing excess stock.
• Risk management: Identify supply risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with government regulations and standards, especially defense contracts.
• Collaboration: Work with engineering, production, and logistics to align with project goals.
