Job summary

Saronic Technologies seeks a Buyer responsible for sourcing, procurement, and supplier management to support production of autonomous surface vessels for the DoD. You will identify reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery while upholding quality standards and FAR/DFAR compliance.

Lead supplier performance, collaborate with engineering and logistics, and drive cost efficiency across procurement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, business, or a related field.
• Proven procurement and supplier-management experience, preferably in defense or maritime sectors.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with government procurement regulations (e.g., FAR, DFAR) is a plus.
• Proficiency with procurement software and ERP tools.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Management: build and maintain relationships, ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Sourcing: identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers.
• Negotiation: negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to secure best value.
• Cost Analysis: conduct cost benchmarking and identify savings opportunities.
• Inventory Management: monitor stock levels to support production schedules.
• Risk Management: identify supply risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Compliance: ensure procurement activities comply with government regulations, especially defense contracts.
• Collaboration: work with engineering, production, and logistics to meet goals.
• Continuous Improvement: implement process improvements in procurement and supply chain.
