Job summary

San Juan Regional Medical Center is seeking a Decision Support Manager to oversee budgeting, analytics and the Decision Support Analyst teams. You will guide development and maintenance of the decision support systems, collaborate with executives, and provide data-driven recommendations for cost management and financial initiatives.

The role requires advanced analytics, expert Excel, and experience with hospital data tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field; master's substitutes for three years of experience.
• Advanced healthcare analytics skills and ability to interpret complex statistics.
• Advanced Excel skills: data simulation, power pivot, power query, advanced formulas, charts, validation.
• Data mining.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage timelines in a changing environment.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting policies, controls, and systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to Decision Support Analysts and facilitate problem-solving among staff.
• Monitor staff performance and set objectives for efficiency.
• Promote professional development and align with division goals.
• Staff management: hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinaries.
• Forecast personnel, equipment, and supplies; lead regular team huddles.
• Learn all job functions to optimize system usage and processes.
• Organize and manage data analysis projects within the department.
• Plan and direct daily operations of the Decision Support analyst team.
• Present analytics insights to senior leadership to support decisions and financial initiatives.
• Lead building of annual operating budgets for all facilities.
• Facilitate the capital budgeting process and collaborate with department leaders.
• Ensure accuracy of costing and reporting; manage costing structures.
