Job summary

Apogee Engineering, LLC is seeking a Database Administrator SME to support USSTRATCOM, managing Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres across three systems in a classified environment.

You will enforce DoD STIGs, perform auditing and patching, and lead database operations. The role requires TS/SCI eligibility, extensive DoD experience, and collaboration with STRATCOM teams on secure data solutions.

Qualifications

• US citizen with TS/SCI clearance
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, GSEC, etc.)
• 15+ years of relevant DoD experience including RMF, DoD cyber workforce programs

Responsibilities

• Administers three client-server systems in a classified environment.
• Collaborates with STRATCOM personnel and contractors to optimize the database.
• Install, configure, patch, and maintain Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgres in virtualized/cloud environments.
• Monitor health, troubleshoot issues, optimize SQL queries, and prevent mission downtime.
• Manage user access and implement DoD STIGs, auditing, and patches.
• Design, test, and execute automated backup, recovery, and failover strategies.
• Coordinate ETL pipelines and secure data gateways with Systems Engineers.
• Produce database documentation for program Secret, Top Secret, and JWICS networks.
• Act as database technical lead during security incidents.
