Job summary

Medal is seeking a data analytics professional to own how we learn about users, influence product decisions, and publish insights. You will design experiments, configure multi-test pipelines, and drive KPI reporting with the analytics team.

You will build the data backbone, work with engineers on telemetry, and contribute to pricing and feature experiments. Strong statistical and programming skills are essential, with a focus on clear communication and roadmap ownership.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in product analytics or a master's in statistics or related field.
• Applied statistics depth including regression, experimental design, and causal inference.
• Strong SQL, Python or R with consumer-scale event data and data warehouse tooling.
• Fluent in analytics platforms (Amplitude) and BI tools (Tableau or equivalents).
• Comfort coordinating with engineers on release cycles in CI/CD environments.
• Ability to use AI tools to enhance analysis and verify AI outputs.
• Questioning mindset: ask why until the data cannot answer.
• Excellent communication and ability to own a roadmap.
• Bonus: capability for qualitative UX research.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end analytics strategy and instrumentation for the product.
• Design and analyze experiments, determine sample size and guardrails.
• Build KPI reporting and data pipelines; lead deep-dive analyses.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers to ensure accurate telemetry.
• Provide data-driven pricing, willingness-to-pay and elasticity insights.
• Publish thought leadership with partners and internally.
