Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead a high-performing team focused on forecasting and data-driven decision support. You will mentor data scientists, collaborate with engineers, analysts, and product partners, and shape strategic modeling efforts across Stripe’s finance and strategy domains.

You will drive the roadmap, build scalable analytics, and contribute to company-wide initiatives with a strong emphasis on autonomy and leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• PhD, MS, or BS in a quantitative field (Statistics, OR, Economics, CS, Engineering).
• 3+ years of direct management experience leading data science or ML teams; 10+ years of data science experience overall.
• Experience designing metrics and guiding business decisions with data.
• Ability to drive clarity with staff and senior scientists on architecture and modeling decisions.
• Led teams that built and shipped ML systems and data products at scale.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and decision-making with rigor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; autonomous and responsible.

• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, operations, finance, and marketing.
• Lead and manage processes to maximize team impact and collaboration with Stripe.

• Recruit and onboard data scientists with Stripe's recruiting team.
• Contribute to broad data science initiatives as part of Stripe's data science management team.
