Job summary

StripeStripe is a financial infrastructure platform. We are seeking a Data Science Manager to lead a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers in building scalable ML solutions and governance. You will drive modeling efforts, mentor talent, and partner with executives to inform strategic decisions.

You will foster an autonomous, inclusive environment and ensure rigorous, data-driven approaches to forecasting and performance measurement across the organization.

Qualifications

• A PhD, MS, or BS in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, OR, Economics, CS, Engineering).
• At least 3 years of direct management experience leading data science or ML teams, and 10 years of overall DS experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing metrics and guiding business decisions with data.
• Technical ability to clarify architecture and strategic modeling decisions with staff and senior scientists.
• Experience building and shipping ML systems and data products at scale with hands-on problem solving.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, rigorous thinking, and tough decision making.
• Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication.
• Autonomy and responsibility in ownership of projects.

Responsibilities

• Drive the roadmap and priorities for your team in collaboration with company leaders.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, operations, finance, and marketing.
• Lead and manage processes to enable the team to do its best work.
• Manage a high-performing data science team and support career growth.
• Recruit and onboard data scientists with the recruiting team.
• Contribute to broad data science initiatives as a management team member.
