Job summary

Miles & Stockbridge is seeking a Director of Data Architecture & Strategy to provide strategic leadership for the firm's data environment. You will shape the data roadmap, govern data assets, and partner with CIO and stakeholders to align data initiatives with business priorities.

The role requires 5+ years in data architecture or governance, strong communication, and proven success delivering enterprise data programs in professional services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, data management, information systems, business, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of managerial experience in data architecture, enterprise data management, data strategy, data governance, or related functions.
• Experience in a law firm, professional services organization, or regulated environment preferred.
• Demonstrated experience developing or contributing to an enterprise data strategy and architecture.
• Strong understanding of modern data concepts like warehouses, data lakes, lake houses, cloud platforms, modeling, and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the firm’s firmwide data strategy and multi-year roadmap.
• Evaluate data architecture options and recommend solutions (warehouses, lakes, cloud platforms).
• Lead data governance programs and chair the Data Governance Committee.
• Partner with leaders to understand data needs and develop department-level data strategies.
• Ensure data architecture aligns with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with technology teams to integrate data architecture with the broader tech environment.
