Job summary

Larson Maddox seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to support procurement, supply chain, and government contracting for an aerospace/defense tech leader. Location: Arlington, VA or Los Angeles, CA. Hybrid work model with 2 days on-site.

You will draft, negotiate, and manage subcontracts, MSAs, and SOWs, ensuring FAR/DFARS flow-downs, risk mitigation, and compliance. Collaborate across functions to drive agile deal execution.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. state bar.
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience focused on commercial contracting, subcontracts, procurement, supply chain, or government contracts.
• Deep knowledge of FAR/DFARS flowdowns and government contracting compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated success negotiating and closing complex commercial agreements with high volume.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a high volume of contracts including subcontracts, MSAs, SOWs, and NDAs.
• Ensure flow-downs to suppliers and subcontractors with required certifications and risk provisions.
• Advise on FAR/DFARS/OTA government contracting requirements affecting supplier relationships.
• Partner with procurement, supply chain, program management, engineering, and finance to accelerate deals.
• Develop contracting tools, templates, playbooks, and self-service resources.
• Manage representations, certifications, and compliance obligations for government and commercial contracting.
• Collaborate on export controls, sanctions, ITAR and EAR requirements with trade compliance teams.
• Provide pragmatic legal guidance and risk assessments to leadership and stakeholders.
• Support supplier dispute resolution and contract enforcement; help scale processes.
