Job summary

Mindtris is seeking a Costing Engineer in Foster City, CA to develop should-cost targets for mechanical and electrical components, analyze CAD models and drawings, and drive cost reduction initiatives across the design and manufacturing lifecycle.

The role requires strong knowledge of DFA/DFM, VA/VE techniques, and experience with costing software such as BDI or A-priori. Travel up to 10% may be required; 1-year duration with possible extension.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or electrical engineering.
• Experience in should-cost/cost engineering.
• Knowledge of DFA/DFM and cost reduction methods.
• Experience with BOMs and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Proficiency with costing software tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide should-cost analysis for procurement negotiations.
• Lead DFA/DFM analyses for new designs.
• Develop cost targets for mechanical and electrical components.
• Present cost updates to management monthly.
• Maintain cost reports and tracking.
