Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a Cost-Price Leader to partner with management and apply cost accounting to gather and analyze cost data for competitive bids and proposals. The role leads cost and price management to expand margins and support revenue growth, while guiding cross-functional teams on requirements and system enhancements.

Responsibilities include developing cost proposals, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leveraging Excel/ERP tools to drive accurate pricing decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field. Advanced degree and professional certification preferred.
• 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, pricing, financial analysis, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and their application to product costing and pricing decisions.
• Experience determining costs for complex or custom products and preparing cost proposals, bids, or quotations for customers.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting cost and pricing compliance (e.g., government contracts).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong skills with ERP and financial systems; BI tools are a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk-assessment skills; ability to handle diverse data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to develop sound cost/price recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cost and price management function for the assigned Sales Company, country, or segment to drive margin expansion.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for cost and price management processes and systems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements and drive deployment of cost/pricing systems, analytics, and reporting capabilities.
• Determine the cost of unique and complex products and services with cost models reflecting current processes.
• Develop and document cost proposal rationale and detailed cost breakdowns for bids and major opportunities.
• Identify key cost and pricing factors to support accurate development, risk assessments, and decisions.
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs vs standards and provide variance reports to improve margin.
• Ensure pricing practices comply with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct product and market research to understand competitive positioning and pricing strategy.
• Provide cost/pricing inputs for initial contracts and proposals aligning with margin targets.
