Job summary

VulcanForms is seeking a Cost Accounting Lead to design, analyze, and improve cost accounting processes, delivering actionable insights for budgeting, forecasting, and decision support. You will oversee variance analysis, standard costing, and inventory valuation within a manufacturing context.

The role requires 5+ years in cost accounting, a strong foundation in US GAAP, and experience with ERP systems like Epicor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CMA preferred.
• 5+ years cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Experience designing or improving cost accounting and reporting processes.
• Proficient in variance analysis, standard costing, inventory accounting.
• Advanced analytical skills to interpret cost drivers and provide insights.
• Strong ERP/Accounting system experience (Epicor).
• Solid understanding of US GAAP.
• Independent and proactive with good communication skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve cost analysis frameworks across direct and indirect costs.
• Develop and enhance cost reporting and variance analysis for management use.
• Assess cost structures and data flows; implement improved processes or controls.
• Prepare cost reports and analyses to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Lead cost forecasts and annual operating budgets; evaluate project feasibility.
• Maintain annual standard cost updates and work-order settlements.
• Monitor inventory cost and valuation accuracy.
• Collaborate with production, operations, supply chain, and finance to embed cost controls.
• Ensure adherence to US GAAP and audit readiness.
