Job summary

Evolving Solution Services in Tucker, GA seeks a Cost Accountant Specialist to manage inventory and project costing within an SAP environment. You will analyze costs, support financial reporting, and partner with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and Finance.

The role focuses on standard costing, BOM integrity, inventory reconciliations, and profitability analysis for multiple projects and product lines. Strong Excel skills and GAAP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years cost accounting experience in manufacturing or project-based environments.
• Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, job costing, and variance analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, inventory valuation, and project accounting principles.
• Proficient Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, lookups, and financial analysis).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Perform monthly cost variance analysis and communicate findings to Accounting Team Lead.
• Maintain SAP costing-related master data (material masters, BOMs, routings, work centers).
• Assist with monthly inventory reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory valuation.
• Track project costs (materials, labor, freight, subcontractors) and monitor budgets vs actuals.
• Prepare project profitability and gross margin reports.
• Support month-end/ year-end close and budgets/forecasts.
• Assist with audit requests and internal controls improvements.
