Job summary

Altana Pharma Deutschland S.L. (Nycomed Germany Holding GmbH) is looking for an Accountant to turn financial data into actionable insights across multiple sites.

You will manage cost trends, inventory activity, and operational results while partnering with cross-functional teams in a fast-growing electrical/chemical environment. The role emphasizes hands-on responsibilities in cost accounting, inventory management, budgeting support, and process improvements, with SAP and advanced Excel skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Two or more years of accounting experience preferred.
• Manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory valuation, costing, and reconciliation.
• Coordinate and support physical inventory counts and related audit activities.
• Develop and maintain cost standards for materials and labor.
• Perform month-end cost accounting close, including preparation of inventory-related journal entries.
• Prepare cost and variance analyses to support business decisions.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Assist with tax and audit support.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Monitor financial systems to identify and recommend procedural and processing improvements.
• Interpret, apply, and maintain accounting policies and procedures; recommend changes as appropriate.
• Partner with Finance and Operations to resolve accounting and inventory issues.
• Assist with special projects and reporting as assigned.
• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and other accounting functions.
