Job summary

Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. in Bloomington, IN seeks a Corporate Controller to maintain GAAP financial records and support the CFO with reporting, audits, and planning. Responsibilities include month-end close, consolidation, fixed assets, tax reporting, and payroll oversight, while ensuring compliance with laws and internal policies.

The role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and leadership to guide divisional accounting teams. Travel for audits is possible and a CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA is preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with financial statement prep, payroll, journal entries, property tax and fixed assets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and income statements.
• Close books monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements.
• Manage fixed asset records and property tax reports.
• Coordinate semi-annual on-site audits and external reporting.
• Oversee payroll processing, payroll taxes, and 401(k) withholding.
• Produce reports for audits, budgets, and financial planning.
