Job summary

Beacon Biosignals is shaping precision medicine for the brain and building at-home EEG platforms for clinical development. We seek a Corporate Controller to lead accounting, payroll, and controls in a growth-stage environment, partnering with leadership to scale finance systems and processes.

The role reports to the CEO and is based in Beacon's Boston or NYC hub, with a focus on policy development, compliance, and strategic financial leadership to enable rapid growth while maintaining tight

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting.
• 7+ years of experience in Finance, ideally in a startup.
• Degree in finance, statistics, economics, business or related field.
• Ability to build infrastructure for growth with strong financial controls.
• Ability to translate numbers into ROI and storytelling for leaders.
• Strong communication of complex financial concepts across the org.
• Desire to drive continuous process improvements.
• Excellent Excel skills with large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and payroll including month-end close.
• Support invoicing and accounts payable activities.
• Be the in-house expert on revenue recognition and operations.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, controls, and GAAP conformance.
• Support financial performance monitoring and forecasting.
• Prepare internal and external financial statements and KPI reporting.
• Collaborate with People Ops on headcount planning.
• Review payroll tax returns and ensure payroll taxes are accurately recorded.
• Streamline accounting systems and processes for efficiency.
