Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) in San Diego is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead the next growth phase, aligning vision with operations, people and performance.

The role requires strategic, financially savvy leadership capable of building a culture of ownership, guiding change, and partnering with executives and the Board to advance mission impact. It offers a hybrid work schedule and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA/Nonprofit Master's preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive nonprofit leadership experience.
• Experience leading operational functions within a nonprofit organization.
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting and resource management.
• Experience overseeing multiple departments and leading cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to develop strategic plans and translate them into measurable operational outcomes.
• Experience using data, reporting, and performance metrics to drive organizational improvement.

Responsibilities

• Translate organizational strategy into actionable operational plans, priorities and performance objectives.
• Directly support the Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Programs Officer and HR.
• Assist in establishing department goals aligned to organizational priorities.
• Remove roadblocks and align projects to maximize impact.
