Strategic Controller — GAAP, Consolidations & Internal Controls

Job summary

BYD America Corporation seeks an experienced Controller to guide accounting, reporting and controls for Ride Group. The role leads the accounting team to meet deadlines, improve processes and manage GAAP issues.

The candidate will work with external auditors and tax firms, participate in budgeting, and strengthen internal controls across critical business processes in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of accounting manager/controller experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting or related fields.
• CPA preferred.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure GAAP compliant accounting policies and processes are established and followed for reporting of business transactions.
• Lead monthly and annual closings and consolidate financial statements with footnotes.
• Coordinate with external auditors and resolve audit issues.
• Coordinate with accounting firm on tax returns and deferred tax accounting with external support.
• Participate in budgeting and financial analysis with operations and FP&A teams.
• Lead internal controls and self-audits across the company to establish good business practices.
