Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks a Contractor Assurance Manager to lead the laboratory’s Contractor Assurance System, reporting to the Director of the Office of Integrated Performance Management. The role integrates assurance activities across eight science directorates and six operations directorates to improve consistency, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in business, science, engineering, or a related field.
• Ten to twelve years of progressively responsible experience in contractor assurance, performance management, operational excellence, quality assurance, ESH&Q, risk management, project or program management, governance, assessments, corrective action, or other complex institutional management systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives; analyzing performance, risk, or operational information; communicating with senior leaders; and driving sustainable improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve ORNL’s integrated Contractor Assurance System, ensuring alignment with objectives and contractual/regulatory requirements.
• Provide strategic direction and integration for the CAS program portfolio across assurance responsibilities; lead SME and program managers.
• Lead through influence in a matrixed environment; build alignment among senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into actionable analyses and recommendations for leadership.
• Provide leadership and oversight to program managers and implementers; clarify expectations and promote effective implementation.
• Deliver timely performance reports and analyses to inform decisions and institutional improvement.
• Develop meaningful performance indicators and maintain stewardship of organizational indicators.
• Evaluate adequacy of CAS implementation through self-assessments of processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve risk management and assurance outcomes; collaborate on improvement strategies.
• Coordinate broad assurance processes and boards; engage with leadership and DOE site offices.
• Build productive relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional teams; represent ORNL in national labs initiatives and EFCOG communities.
