Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a Project Estimator to compute accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial projects, closely analyzing plans, specs, materials, labor, and time. This role supports profitability from pre-construction through completion.

You will prepare take-offs, evaluate quotes, develop bids, and work with managers, engineers, architects, and clients to identify value engineering opportunities and keep pricing current.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in construction estimating.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to determine scope and requirements
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns
• Estimate costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Develop competitive bid proposals and tender documents
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
• Maintain up-to-date cost databases and pricing records
• Assist in contract negotiations and project budgeting
• Monitor project costs against estimates and report variances
