Job summary

Kinkaid Civil Construction seeks an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a heavy civil contractor. You will manage GAAP reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and project costing to support profitable growth.

You will collaborate with executive leadership, project management, estimating, and operations to deliver timely financial information and strengthen financial controls across the organization.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar senior role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
• Demonstrated experience with construction job costing and project-based accounting.
• Ability to analyze financial information and communicate results to executive and operational leadership.
• Experience leading or developing accounting personnel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations: AR, AP, payroll, GL, and job cost accounting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain an effective chart of accounts for heavy civil construction.
• Provide timely financial information and cost-control guidance to management.
• Oversee construction job costing systems and project reporting.
• Establish cost-to-complete and project forecasting processes.
• Coordinate audits with external CPA firms.
