Job summary

Clayco, a leading real estate, architecture, engineering and construction firm, seeks a Compliance Director for its St. Louis or Chicago offices. You will own the vendor compliance review process, execute enterprise-wide policies, and lead investigations across multiple entities. Regular travel is expected.

The role emphasizes training delivery, risk assessment, and reporting to the Enterprise Compliance Team. A bachelor's degree and 7+ years in compliance are required; CCEP/CFE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• CCEP or CFE certification preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in compliance, ethics, legal, or risk management.
• Working familiarity with antitrust law, anti-bribery/corruption, and public procurement rules.
• Strong investigative and cross-functional communication skills.
• Comfortable designing and delivering live training.

Responsibilities

• Execute the enterprise-wide Code of Conduct and compliance policies across all entities in the assigned group.
• Own each entity's vendor and procurement compliance review process from end to end.
• Set the standard for reviews, approvals, and governance adherence across divisions.
• Investigate reports within the group, document findings, and coordinate remediation.
• Administer conflict-of-interest disclosures and manage recusal when needed.
• Maintain compliance files and evidence for audits and reviews.
• Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments and direct training resources accordingly.
• Report quarterly to the Enterprise Compliance Team on metrics, exceptions, and training completion.
