Job summary

The Scripps station in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a Sr Mgr of Community Connections to serve as the primary link to the community. You will cultivate trusted relationships, surface insights for journalism, and drive partnerships across civic and educational organizations.

You will lead engagement priorities, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure responsive communication with audience members while shaping a market-wide community strategy.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in community engagement, journalism, nonprofit leadership, communications, public affairs or related fields.
• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to identify priorities and opportunities.
• Gather and communicate community insights to inform newsroom decision-making and coverage.
• Partner with News to connect journalists with trusted sources for audience engagement.
• Serve as station liaison to civic, nonprofit, business, educational, and government groups.
• Lead planning of forums, town halls, and community engagement initiatives.
• Ensure timely, professional responses to audience questions and concerns.
