Job summary

Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit eligible position of Communication Specialist and Stabilitas Coordinator. The role combines content creation, communications strategy, and administrative support for Stabilitas, a multi-diocesan initiative to train and form ministry leaders in rural areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism, theology or related field.
• Experience writing and editing long- and short-form content for various communication channels.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills, including fact-checking.
• Ability to tailor content for diverse audiences and channels.
• Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with multiple teams.
• Willingness to learn HTML/CSS/JavaScript and modern CMS systems like WordPress or Drupal.

Responsibilities

• Content Creation and Communication: research, write, edit, and distribute content for print and online channels.
• Develop feature stories highlighting students, alumni, faculty, and donors.
• Support PR and media relations; write press materials and pitch stories.
• Collaborate with admissions and advancement on marketing materials and proposals.
• Coordinate content calendars and storytelling plans with stakeholders.
• Maintain SOT/Sem branding across platforms and update website content.
• Capture photos and other visuals for marketing materials.
• Oversee proofreading and fact-checking across materials.
