Job summary

FedTech in Arlington, VA seeks an experienced communications professional to lead outreach and engagement efforts linking laboratory technologies with federal partners and industry stakeholders.

You will develop a comprehensive outreach strategy, manage industry events, and produce newsletters, articles, and success stories. The role requires strong writing, multi-channel content creation, and collaboration with scientists and program leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, outreach, marketing, event management, or related field.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling content for diverse audiences.
• Experience planning and delivering events from concept to delivery, including stakeholder coordination.
• Experience working with scientists, engineers, government stakeholders, and partners in regulated environments.
• Portfolio or work samples demonstrating relevant communications, outreach, content, or event experience.
• U.S. citizenship required; active or transferable security clearance a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an outreach and communications strategy with an annual calendar.
• Plan and manage industry days, open houses, partnering sessions, and outreach events.
• Represent the program at FLC events and other conferences.
• Develop, produce, and distribute a consistent newsletter.
• Maintain and enhance website content and partner information.
• Manage social media channels, especially LinkedIn, to boost awareness.
• Create success stories and case studies with researchers and partners.
• Prepare award submissions and recognition materials.
• Track performance and link engagement metrics to outcomes.
• Collaborate with scientists and program leadership to accurately represent technical work.
