You will collaborate with the Washington, DC team, track media trends, draft press materials, maintain calendars, and drive operational excellence across the department while upholding best practices and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in public relations, journalism, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience pitching and working with the media.
• Detail-oriented self-starter with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent writing, copywriting, PowerPoint, and editing skills with AP style knowledge.
• Ability to drive operational excellence and deliver timely results independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist campaigns, track performance metrics, and support daily ops.
• Draft press materials and coordinate media outreach.
• Maintain communications calendar with stakeholders.
• Analyze daily news coverage and report insights.
• Handle inbound media inquiries and draft statements.
• Maintain metrics tools and track reporting outcomes.
• Research external trends to inform messaging.
• Stay current on PR best practices and new tactics.
• Support processes boosting team efficiency.
• Help manage external agency relationships and budgets.
