Job summary

The Heising-Simons Foundation seeks a Communications Officer to advance the Foundation and programmatic goals through strategic communications and coordination with its Action Fund sister organization. The role collaborates with the Communications team to draft and edit content and guide messaging for program areas and grantees.

Qualifications

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience in nonprofit/advocacy communications.
• Experience as a communications officer or related college degree.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to translate complex concepts for multiple audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement communications strategies for multiple program areas.
• Manage multiple communications projects concurrently.
• Provide strategic support to advocacy work.
• Edit Foundation materials to support goals and transparency.
• Collaborate with program officers and grantees on messaging.
• Participate in Foundation-wide committees and training.
