Job summary

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley seeks a Communications Manager to lead internal and external communications across multiple campus sites. You will oversee daily operations, edit stories, field media requests, and release press materials to promote the university and support recruitment and branding initiatives.

You will develop content for external publications, manage UTRGV Messenger and calendar, train staff, and collaborate with IT, Marketing and campus stakeholders to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or closely related field from an accredited university.
• Four (4) years of experience performing related work.
• Experience managing internal communications and media relations.
• Experience editing and releasing press releases.

Responsibilities

• Manages the creation, implementation and oversight of special communication projects that promote the organization and its products.
• Oversees daily operations of the department for the office on multiple sites in supervisor's absence.
• Develops content and scope for external monthly publications and related digital/print products.
• Trains users on how to use communication systems and collaborates with IT/Marketing teams.
