Job summary

Native American Health Center in Oakland seeks a Communications Manager to lead the agency's communications and media program. The role oversees external and internal communications, branding, and campaigns across digital, print, and social channels, while supervising staff and aligning with leadership priorities.

You will drive community engagement, manage press relationships, and craft content for newsletters, websites, and campaigns to support program growth and fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
• 4+ years in communications, marketing, PR, or related area.
• 2+ years of direct supervisory/management experience.
• Experience developing and implementing multi-channel strategies.
• Experience managing multiple projects with stakeholders.
• Experience with external communications and media relationships.
• Hands-on content development across digital and traditional channels.
• Ability to use metrics and analytics to inform strategy.
• Branding, messaging, and standards development experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead NAHC’s Communications and Media Program strategy and priorities.
• Plan and strengthen communications across digital, print, video, and web.
• Supervise staff, set expectations, and provide coaching.
• Develop and distribute press materials and media statements.
• Lead integrated campaigns to promote programs and fundraising.
• Maintain media relationships and pursue earned coverage.
• Guide branding, messaging, and visual identity across channels.
• Monitor metrics and adjust strategies based on data.
